Digital Drums

Hey gang,
Just wondering what would be a good space saving, less volume intensive set up I could get as far as drums go. I've got a kit downstairs but I always seem to be getting home well past an acceptable drumming hour with the strong urge to hammer out some beats. I was particularly interested in something Midi based that I could hook a kick up to. I've got reason and was looking into the drums refill but that's about as far as I got with my research. Thanks in advance.
(Really wasn't sure if this belonged here or Gear and Recording)

I'm no expert in electronic drums, but maybe this link will help in making a decision. It explains most things about electronic drums.
