But where is the purpose for a point in an essentially hollow life,
No love of any strength ties one soul to another -
Each and every one of us dies alone,
And leaving everything you have won behind
Show me reason in filling an empty box to have it emptied.
How does it feel to realise that your cold corpse is the greatest irony.

Personally I think it is an immature philosophy, because it comes from a person looking for absolute purpose, looking for something permanent, wanting their existence to have some reflection or part in the grand scheme of things, but of course there isn't to this person and they feel so horribly bitter about it. It shines through. It's a highly self-absorbed and introverted way of thinking that clouds the whole of things, and it was conveyed beautifully for me in this piece. It was great. Given the current situation the neighborhood has recently been forced into I disagree with a lot of this. However the partial sentence "you cannot be consoled by your own soul" I think is right on. It seems the 2 youthful witnesses to the tragedy are more concerned about others than themselves. Maybe it takes something truely unepected and unexplained to wake people up.
If this doesn't make sense I'm sorry. I'm still having trouble with all this myself.
Your piece is okay and well-worded from that pov, but I just can't agree with it.

She had a serious accident in front of her house, involving neighbourhood children and speeding cars... The one saving grace is that Bobbie was there for those poor people who lost a child... But it takes it all from you..you know?

I think Enoch's trying to retain some anonymity there. I can imagine that Bobbi is taking some strain if I am correctly interpreting what him and Enoch are saying. And it would be very relevant. Although Bobbi should maybe look at my interpretation, not saying it's correct, but it may help him.
