Getting a Megadeth Bass Tone

Hey everyone,

I've been trying to find out how to get the bass tone that Megadeth uses. I've been listening to RIP and Countdown a lot and I love Ellefson's tone. Does anybody know how I can replicate it, either by buying equipment or messing with the eq on my amp.

He used a Gallien-Krueger amp. Turn up the mids.
