nother boring day in store here, so i surfed a lil and found some interesting basses...
1st one is a Talbo Metal Bass...and yes it's completly made of Aluminium...I'd give a lot to play one of these  ..strange pickup design...overall it looks weird, even to me

Agreed, nice thingies, but if u want a similar bass for two fortunes less o money i'll go for the Cort Artisan A series. They come with similar electronic and general setup. And compared to the most expensive smith electronics, the bartolini used here aren't that bad.
Also speaking tech now, i don't like Bubinga wood (ok, ok i don't like wood at all), but Bubinga is, imho, a wood that sounds too lush, not punchy enough for me, and the electronics have too much of a work there, if u want that punchin sound. The hard maple used with the A series is, imho, very well enough for the "normal" bass player, and much more easier to handle.
And they sure look alike: Cort A6

Artisans are nice, especially for their money. Cort's electronics suck in general though, but I heard the later models have that problem fixed.
I dunno, I prefer the SR body style though.

My bass, and ones I like and dis like.
[COLOR=Red]My bass is the pic attached, I know it isn't much but my new one is attached next to it, anyways its a BC RICH, they rock they have the perfect sound if ur a metal man lol. I love it sounds incredibly low and very good with my boss overdrive pedal. Anyways adios, I hate that Rogue VB-100 Violin bass its ugly as hell... so isn't the Rickenbacker 4003, no offense to Rickenbacker fans, they do make other good guitars but this one was just an ugly mistake.
 to the Violin bass all we have to do with it now is  burn the damn thing. |

I don't like double necked guitars. It seems stupid. I guess that's because I'm not too fond of octave strings. It's kind of like cheating to get a better sound imo. Damn that must be heavy.

Ive been recently ..well for 2 years.. fascinated with Warwick basses, there sound and there looks.. but now.. ive sorta discovered a new bass manufacture, a more decent sounding, better looking, and better bass . thanks to the sikth bassist..

yep, back. Had one hell of a ride with jobs the last year. Store I worked for had to close, so I jumped jobs and didn't have a lot of time. 
Well basically the Bogarts could be headless, but it's an interesting solution they took with their headstock design. You have to get used to it I admit, but the graphite neck definetly kicks major ass

ok that was stupid, anyways why is it that Bogarts could be headless? I don't really know anything about headless guitars, though I suppose it's essentially the same thing except you tune on the bridge. What are the advantages/disadvantages of a headless bass? Does it cost more? I think I saw a Death video in which Chuck Sculdiner played a headless guitar. Please feel free to ramble all sorts of info about headless basses.

Ok from my experience.
Advantages:
- more comfortable handling. since the mechanics and headstock are basically built in at the bridge, the neck becomes lighter. Not much maybe, but your back will feel even a few hundred gramms less over the time
- the above point negates all top heavy basses. Of course you can run into a tail heavy bass then, but almost all headless basses I found were perfectly balanced w/o any customization
- I found them to be more precise when it comes to tuning and they kept tuning longer. Given good enough hardware it doesn't matter what built is used on the bass, but in general headless is heavy duty and even under
difficult circumstances they keep tuning
Disadvantages:
- expensive, yes. Since headless basses are not mainstream, most of them are rare and therefor expensive (famous example the Steinbergs)
- matter of taste, most ppl don't like the look. From what I've heard from customers they look "unfinished", "broken" etc
Out of that list ppl argue over the sound headless vs. normal for years already. There are ppl who claim headless lost tone and balance by ripping the head off, other ppl say the neck gets more sustain that way. Endless fight
Since I'm a fan of them, I can't really think of more disadvantages. Other ppl might continue this list

yeah Micheal Spalt's basses are fragile looking but they sound increadable, espcially the magma because of its optical pick-ups. He made another line of bassed the vViper line and they are some of the most versitile instements i have heard because of the movable pickup. the hybrid line is also very ergonomical because all of the peices are moveable |

Through necks are sexy. But Warwicks are really expensive. I find they are even overpriced. Since they have such a good reputation they make you pay a few extra hundred dollars for the name. Oh well ...

its pretty simple man, just download some bass artists like stu hamm and victor wooten, you would pick it up from watching it, download some chili peppers, watch flea play the bass.. get ''off the map'' dvd by them

Cool bass...
The Fender (Squier) P-Bass with red body and white guitar pick is one of the cleanest sounding, and coolest looking basses around. (If you do add a strap stopper to both the strap holders so you can thrash while you play. >_<; )
well...it is my opinion...you can think otherwise! :-P

i rendered this with rhino a couple months ago (keep in mind it was like, my first render). im tryin to make it a real bass, even though the design isnt quite accurate to a guitar you get the picture. if it is designed i wanna make the headstock wicked fuckin sharp for...i dunno, gouging out peoples' eyes?
